You have real agency, real responsibility, to choose wisely...For those who are ambivalent or anxious, I think it's very important to stress the sovereignty of God and the goodness of God, that God does the calling and the appointing. He has a plan that is good for His children. He cannot fail, He cannot be frustrated...You can lean on the Lord. For those who are ambitious...I write in the book about not allowing ambition to push out our other responsibilities...[and I] caution here that sometimes what we set our hearts on is not where the Lord brings us."

William Boekestein is the pastor of Immanuel Fellowship Church in Kalamazoo, Michigan and the author of numerous books. He worked in residential construction and taught at a Christian school for several years. He and his wife have four children.
