RFPA, RBO, and Young Calvinists Host Local Author Event
Reformed Free Publishing Association
On the beautiful fall evening of October 29th, authors and readers gathered at the Reformed Book Outlet in Hudsonville, MI for the RFPA's first-ever multi-author event. This event was held in collaboration with the Reformed Free Publishing Association, the Reformed Book Outlet, and the Young Calvinists.
RBO and the RFPA provided plenty of donuts and cider for authors and attendees
Throughout the evening, authors William Boekestein (Finding My Vocation), P. M. Kuiper (Through Many Dangers), Mike Velthouse (Journey Through the Psalms), and Abby Van Solkema (Devotions on the Gospel of John for Teens) answered questions on their books, the writing process, and ideas for new releases (and new series!).
For a few attendees, this was their first time conversing with an RFPA author. However, most of those who stopped by the event were friends and family of the authors, as well as some long-time supporters of the Association and RFPA board members.

Special thanks to the RBO staff, who provided books and food for the event, and the Young Calvinists, who advertised the evening on their website and social media. Reformed Book Outlet (RBO) is a Reformed bookstore in the Hudsonville area (often confused with the Reformed Free Publishing Association, or RFPA); its mission is "to help those who desire dependable, worthwhile Reformed reading and those who want to build good home libraries." Learn more about RBO on their website here. Young Calvinists is a committee (made up primarily of young adults from West Michigan) which hosts various events for young people throughout the year, including "singspirations, lectures, bonfires, workshops, service opportunities, and more." The group exists to "foster friendship and Christian fellowship with one another, and to promote zeal for the precious heritage of the Reformed faith that we hold in common." The highlight of the event proved to be the firepits set up in the RBO parking lot, which lent a bit of warmth to an otherwise windy evening
