North America’s oldest continuously published subscriber-based Reformed magazine!
The Standard Bearer is a semi-monthly, 24-page print magazine devoted to explaining and defending Reformed doctrine, promoting the Reformed life of the Church and believer, and combating old and new errors that threaten to disrupt the Reformed faith and life. For 100 years, the Standard Bearer has boldly and unashamedly testified to the faith of the Protestant Reformation.
This periodical was the first of the RFPA’s publications, having been first published in 1924, and today has thousands of subscribers worldwide.

An annual subscription includes 21 issues of the Standard Bearer (Please note: The SB publishes only one issue for June, July, and August).
*Beginning in October 2024, volume year 101, the SB will be changing to a 32-page print magazine. From then on, an annual subscription will include 14 issues of the Standard Bearer (once monthly, including two special issues). The editors of the SB explain:
"Our new decision to publish monthly had the readers, the writers, and the publishers in view. For the readers, we hope the magazine’s appearance once each month will enable you to get through the articles at a more relaxed pace, without getting behind so quickly when it appears again in only two weeks...For the writers, this will decrease their workload a little. The demands placed on all the writers, and the increased demands on ministers in the busyness of the pastorate these days, make it difficult for our writers to fill up 504 pages each year. They still will write 448 pages, so please pray that the current writers will have the strength to write, and find joy and personal profit in writing well-planned and researched articles. For the publisher (the RFPA), reducing the number of issues and mailings per year may lead to decreases in expenses, although with continued rising costs in both printing and mailing these savings may not be seen in the immediate future. The RFPA is working out those details and will do all they can to keep costs in line with other similar periodicals. And thanks to all of you who support the magazine with your collections and gifts! Without these, it would be much more expensive."
